Core values are your fundamental beliefs. They’re the foundation of who you are as an individual, and the qualities that you look for in other people. But common interests are how we judge everything from dating profiles to whether to approve a friend request on facebook.

But liking the same things doesn’t mean you like them for the same reasons. One person can like a heroine because she’s smart and capable. Another person might like her because she’s sarcastic and punches people in the face. Liking the same character does not mean these two people are going to get along.
